UNC men’s basketball blasted Winston-Salem State, but Luka Bogavac is still waiting for clearance by the University. Four-star wing Maximo Adams is nearing the end of his recruitment, there’s Carolina Football on Halloween, Isaiah Denis introduces himself, women’s hoops faces No. 2 South Carolina, football recruits are locked in, and more. On to the updates…

Basketball

As expected, UNC Basketball dominated Winston-Salem State on Wednesday night, 95-53 (Box Score). The Tar Heels were led once again by freshman Caleb Wilson, who scored 23 point and pulled down 10 rebounds.

The most surprising performance, however, had to be that of Zayden High. The sophomore forward scored eight points, finished with seven rebounds, led Carolina in assists (3), committed no turnovers or fouls, went 5-of-6 from the free-throw line, and made a three-pointer…in just 12 minutes(!)

Here are the highlights in case you weren’t able to stream the game:

Unfortunately, the wait for presumed starting shooting guard Luka Bogavac continues, as UNC holds him out while they investigate “internal institutional checkpoints related to Bogavac’s transcript.”

This is not a good look for the University. The NCAA has cleared Bogavac, the government has issued his visa, he’s enrolled in classes at UNC, he’s practicing with the team, hundreds of other foreign college basketball players are eligible, but Bogavac still can’t play? Good luck recruiting future international players to Chapel Hill after this.
