UNC Basketball shook off the Kansas hangover to beat Radford and now hosts NC Central. Carolina Football visits Wake Forest needing two more wins to become bowl eligible. Five-star guard Dylan Mingo will visit UNC after all. Luka Bogavac introduces himself to fans, Women’s Basketball faces No. 3 UCLA in Las Vegas, National Signing Day recap, and more. On to the updates…

🏈 Football

As unlikely as it seemed a few short weeks ago, UNC Football needs to win just two out of its next three games to become bowl eligible. It will be a battle of the “Big Four” beginning Saturday as the Tar Heels visit Winston-Salem to face Wake Forest. The following week, UNC hosts Duke before wrapping up the regular season at NC State.

Bill Belichick dismissed talk of a bowl game and any speculation linking his name with the vacant New York Giants head coaching job in predictable Belichick fashion: “Getting ready for Wake Forest, that’s all I got this week.“ Here’s video of Belichick’s weekly press conference if you’d like to hear more:

Carolina football players also met with the media Tuesday. One of the more entertaining interviews was with defensive end/linebacker Tyler Thompson, who’s been a sack machine over the past few games. When asked how he’s become so successful at rushing the quarterback, Thompson was straight and to the point: “Effort and violence, bro…Like, if you really want it, you’ll get it.”

Another Tar Heel defensive standout is also receiving recognition for his outstanding play. Khmori House was named ACC Linebacker of the Week following his 13 tackles and an interception in UNC’s win over Stanford.

🏀 Basketball

Carolina beat the Radford Highlanders, 89-74, on Tuesday night in Chapel Hill. Luka Bogavac stepped up in Seth Trimble’s absence, scoring 19 points after a slow start from 3-point range.

Bogavac joined Jones Angell and Adam Lucas on the Carolina Insider podcast for a fascinating interview describing his journey from the European professional leagues to American college basketball.

Bogavac replaced Seth Trimble in the starting lineup Tuesday. Trimble is likely to be out about 8 weeks following surgery to repair his broken forearm, suffered when the lat pulldown machine in the weight room fell on top of him, requiring several teammates to pull it off. Scary stuff!
